That would be me. Check out this week’s Edgy Mama Mt. X column. All about refereeing sibling battles.

As if you didn’t already know how, here’s a concise guide to driving your kids nuts. Read it in print in Wednesday’s Mountain Xpress.

Here’s my column for Mountain Xpress this week. Better start getting ready for VD!

Jan 21

My Mountain Xpress column this week gives further dets about my reintroduction to having a toddler in the house.

My beer column from last week got skewered by the newspaper’s cartoonist—guess that means I’m hitting the big time? If you’re bored, read through the comments on that column. I’m always surprised at what sets some folks off.

And I know you want your own long-sleeved Edgy Mama T-shirt, don’t you? Supplies are limited. Give yourself a Monday gift by clicking the button:

This week, in my Mountain Xpress column, I offer party rules for parents. I’m giving you the gift of fun. If you’re willing to rise to it!

Happy Monday!

I’m writing here today for Mountain Xpress. It’s all about silly resolutions and stuff. So read mine and tell me yours, kay?

Happy New Year!

Dec 17

My weekly column is up at Mountain Xpress.

If you’ve read Eat, Pray, Love, you need to read the column. Hell, you should read it anyway. And comment. Because you’ve got nothing better to do the week before Christmas, right?

Happy Monday, all!

Here’s my article on speed dating. I went to one of the speed dating events to take photos–it was surprisingly uncreepy and the people seemed “normal.” Not the cougar crowd, as far as I could tell. It seems like a good format for meeting new people, without having to commit much time, money or emotional energy.

I haven’t linked often to the small business stories I write for the Asheville Citizen-Times, mostly because the newspaper deletes the stories after a couple of weeks, creating link rot on my bloggie!

Also, I’m not allowed to reprint the articles here, because, well, the newspaper wants the on-line clicks, AND they own the story once it’s published, forever (unlike the Mountain Xpress where rights revert to me after a couple of weeks).

That said, if you’re in the area, you should know about some great local shopping ideas I culled from my “small business of the week” profiles for an article in today’s AC-T. I just realized that this may be my Sunday newspaper debut. Hurrah!

Happy shopping. Remember to buy local, support American artisans, save the pandas, etc., etc.

Coming tomorrow: a biz profile on speed dating and a column on surviving the holidays with kids.

Dec 3

I’m writing here today for Mountain Xpress. This week I wrote a “Holiday Gift Guide for the Asheville Kid.” But it can apply to the kid(s) of progressive, hippie parents anywhere. Enjoy!
