Here’s my Flickr slideshow from Brewgrass. Blogger finally let me back in. Whew!
want me to publish my link to my Brewgrass Flickr set for some reason, so if you’re interested in more photos, scroll down and click on the Flickr box in my left sidebar!
In fact, Blogger’s not letting me publish any photos at all. Not sure what’s up with that.
Brewgrass rocked. We ran into several people whom we didn’t know would be there, and didn’t see several people we knew were there. I never made it to half my favorite beer tents, including Rogue and Abita. I meant to go introduce myself to a couple of the brewers whom I’d interviewed on the phone, but I somehow didn’t manage to do that either. Beer is yum, but not so good for my organizational skills. Or memory.
The highlight of my day was the beer posse, who rightly worshiped at the feet of the beer goddess. Yum.

The Musical Kegger ! Yes, it sounds like the name of a kletzmer band, but it’s actually a party. Some of you came to the last “sing if you want/drink all night” par-tay at the pnav. The next one will be next Saturday, August 25, starting at 7:00 p.m. I may have e-mailed some of you already, and E-spouse has e-mailed half of Asheville, but I don’t want to leave anyone out (unless you’re crazy or a stalker, in which case, you’re not invited).
So if you like to sing with a buncha sometimes on-key people playing a variety of instruments or if you like to drink beer with disaffected writer/blogger types and make fun of the folks singing, come on over. The couch will be on the lawn. The keg will be on the screen porch. I’ll not be singing. Unless the beer takes over.
E-mail me for directions if you need them: janusatannefittenglenndotcom. Parking might be tight, so carpool if you can. Hope to see you here!
This is Michael Franti and his band, Spearhead. Last night, they played a sold-out gig at The Orange Peel downtown. BEFORE their gig, they set up on the street behind the Peel and played several songs, because, as they said, “Everyone deserves music!” So coooool.
Franti also passed a bucket to support Veterans for Peace and promised he and his band would match whatever was collected from the impromptu crowd. Why? Because when Franti’s tour bus parked, the first thing he saw was this billboard that sits directly behind the Peel.
I just happened upon the scene, like most of the folks there. Luckily, I had my camera with me. Way to spread peace and love, Michael! Thank you for the music!
What my young cousin is doing in boarding school. He’s the talented guitarist! Thanks to “proud” and very edgy mama, Wozie, for the linkee.
