Does anyone else feel like going to bed at 7:30? I love the brighter mornings after the fall time change, but damn, nights are difficult. My kids have been passing out at 7:30, and I’ve been tempted to follow soon after. They’ve also been “starving” at 5:15. We’re all off-kilter. And it’s pitch-dark at 5:30. I sent them outside tonight to play, then realized, when I heard the screeching, that they’d run into the hickory tree. It was that dark!

Yes, I am waking up at 7 now and tempted to crawl in and sleep at like 9:30 every night - and my meal times are all screwed up!
It’s been dark (and then quickly cold) at market on Tuesday’s. That is the weirdest part.
Right now I’m loving the time change. For starters, if you wake up a bit early, it feels like it’s time to get up because it’s so light, then you realize you have another hour to sleep. Then in the evening you don’t feel so guilty being in your pajamas by 7pm, and when it feels like you should already be in bed, you really have a while to go. Of course how you spend that “extra” time in the evening is the kicker. So far for me it’s meant being parked on the sofa watching a movie, having a glass of wine and munching popcorn. Gotta break that before it becomes a habit.
I love the whole Fall behind time change but this one is kicking my butt! I am in a coma on the couch at 7:30 and wide awake at 4:30 a.m. Love your blog by the way. I don’t comment often but I check it everyday.

Whoever foisted Daylight Savings Time on us obviously had neither children nor cattle.
when I was young, I wrote a letter to Pres Reagan complaining about daylight savings time, because I hated having to go to bed when it was light out. I got a reply back from someone high-up… I really should dig that letter out.
Absolutely ready to go to bed by 8PM - but I’m trying to have a better perspective on it - the rest of the year is so packed full - I need some downtime - and I think it’s my body’s/mind’s signal to pay attention to take advantage of the early dark.
