Lucy will make two trips to visit grandparents this summer and will spend a week at “Inventors Camp.” She is supposed to take a small appliance with her on the first day that she will take apart and use to make something new. She is also in the Library’s summer reading book club. That started Saturday and she is about half way to earning the maximum points available. She will also be continuing piano lessons through the summer. And this weekend she will spend a lot of time with Dad at Relay For Life.
I remember the summers when my two were very young and I dreaded the long summer months. When they were a bit older I actually got to the point where I didn’t want to let them go back to school. They had become good company. They went to a few camps (half days), the beach and the parks, with lots of field trips into the city. And yes they were whiney and said “I’m bored,” but according to the PTBs this is when the imaginations kick in.
as a nanny, summer has been where i make my money! that said, the kids are much harder to entertain. of course i have a slightly different perspective that the parents, but last summer i found almost daily pool visits and a weekly brew n view trip to keep things going.
