The first part of Day in the Life of Asheville (DITLOA) is done–the shooting part. And boy are my legs tired.
Folks are starting to choose and upload their shots. To check them out so far, go here.
The Citizen-Times pulled a few that were uploaded by yesterday afternoon for a photo gallery here.
Here’s my slideshow so far. I’ve only submitted four of these shots to the final pool. Choosing my best shots is the most difficult part of the process for me. So I need feedback. Tell me which ones you like and why. Thanks!

If you don’t put the last one in I am going to cry. It’s AWESOME.
/me off to narrow mine down…
Talk to you soon!

The one you’ve included here grabs me. Also the kid painting a banner on the ground.
Of the roller girl shots, the one of “Pink” applying makeup stands out to me.
I like the Earth Day ribbon dancer, too.
To me those express some of the things I think of when I think of Asheville.
And of course, the softball catcher is in a league of her own.
It’s a nice candid pic that captures a Nikon moment.
Cheers
Thanks, etbnc! The one I put up here is a definite submission. And the kid painting. Though I think I need to crop it slightly.
Thanks, Frank! I can’t wait to see your shots!
Cropping the kid painting: I see something at the left of the frame that could be cropped away. If it were me, though, I would be reluctant to trim any more. To me his extended leg and foot create a line that seems important to the composition.
I like the one you have pictured on this post the best.
Thanks for all the links to photos around Asheville. I am off to explore.
I love the little boy painting…..be careful cropping………I love his leg extension.
Let’s see: Picture No. 1 in your slideshow, Picture No. 3 in your slideshow; the picture of the boy at the water pump (second picture of two); and the boy doing the painting on the banner. Good luck.
Thanks for the feedback all!
