Summertime and the blogging is easy…

Although playing Gameboy on the floor is going to get you puppy kisses.

Yeah, I suck. I’m off to the beach again for a week. One of the few perks of having divorced parents is that we get a week at the beach with Mom and a week at the beach with Dad. This time we’re taking the Bisc, who will be extra work for me, but extra fun for all (see above). As usual, I’ll check in when I can, and Ash will be around for your titillation.

In other news, I’m pursuing some different freelance gigs, as I’m about to be a Mom whose youngest kid is in Kindergarten. Hurrah! Anyway, I’m in “discussions” with someone about writing a paid weekly on-line parenting column. Not much pay, but more than I’m making writing for you, my lovelies. It’s a fairly alternative site, connected to a weekly newspaper, and I think the exposure could be good. Plus, I’d be forced to write something decent more often than I do now, which I’m sure you’d all appreciate. I’d continue with my weekly business profiles and other freelance writing and photography. Thus, I’d really have to schedule my “free” time wisely in order to get it all done.

So, what do y’all think? Should I go for it, or save myself for, for, for ???

I forgot we were going to talk Harry P. spoilers at some point. You know now that I’ve finished the book, I’ve kind of forgotten about it. If you’re dying to talk about it, go for it. Just write the words “HP SPOILER” at the top if you’re going to give away any plot points.

“parenting column” can DEFINITELY incorporate stories about kitties (especially Sumo ones) and husbands. When you think about all the great parenting stories you have blogged about here, (one of my favorites was you and the kids freaking over the snake the other “kids” brought for you) you will realize you already DO a parenting column of sorts. Don’t sell yourself short; your wit and eloquence make you primed to be called the next Erma Bombeck! Go for it, that’s my vote!!!

Puppy kisses! A 2nd week at the beach sounds grand to me. Any writing gig that interests you is worth a try- you’re just getting rolling and I’m thinking a solid journalism spot is in your future. Besides, after 35, there’s not a lot to save yourself for beyond having your ute…wait, forget that. Just have fun at the beach.

Go for it. Talk to Jackie - she’s doing the same thing for the Northside Neighbor.
Eat some fried scrimpers for me!

I say go for it E. “That which does not kill us..”, you know?

Even ‘worst case scenario’, it could still end up being a pretty good experience, and you never know where that path may take you.
