This is the daughter of a good friend who is also a faithful reader of my bloggie and a supportive fan of my fiction. C was literally squealing as she opened “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” When I left the book release party, it was 1:00 a.m. and she was 104 pages in.
Take a close look at her right hand. Is it my imagination, or is there some magical strangeness going on?
I’m on page 284 as of this afternoon. You?

Just finished. Loved it.
We’re working on it here too. (Harry Potter Night)
Page 5 here after two whole days.
Pitiful, I know, but there are extenuating circumstances.
Plus, I’m reading it aloud to my wife (until the CDs come on Wednesday) and we both keep falling asleep at different places and having to go back to a commonly remembered spot.
Such are the wages of chronic sleep deprivation.

Page 80. Borrowing from friends… so.. I’ve only had an hour-ish with it.
Going to read now actually!
When you’re that excited it’s always good to have your legs crossed.
My guess is that this is all a lead in to Repo Man. something magic gets put in a trunk of a car… right?
You suck, arwen. Not really, but damn…
Loved your shots, Don M!
JA, keep persevering. It gets much better after the first two chapters (lots of scene setting and reminders).
Come on, Autumn. 8.3 million books sold in 24 in the U.S. this weekend. Follow the sheep.
Ah, Repo Man. Now that’s a story, Catnap!
i know the little blonde kid in line. I was on a rafting trip with him. As for HP, i haven’t gotten on that train.
Um, I got the book from Amazon on Saturday, started reading at 4pm, read straight through with maybe an hour break for food and hanging out until midnite, and picked it up the next morning (sunday) read from 9-11, when I finished it. About 9-10 hours. Then I was depressed that it was all over. Luckily, I have a close friend who reads just as fast as I do, so when I opened up my email that morning to email her, she had already sent me one that said “call me when you’re finished”. we talked about it for about an hour. I have many things to say. Which I will hold off on until everyone else finishes.
Started at 11:30 Sat morning (last day of vacation at the beach, so had to take breaks to play with children and pretend I was a decent mom). Broke off at 10pm and then finished in one hour on drive home. Started crying on page 53 and will be mourning some of the deaths for some time to come.
Really, really loved it. JK is incredible.
I am an avid reader. I love books, but I have NEVER read HP. I don’t know why. I certainly don’t object to any of the subjects these kooks bring up to try to keep it away from the kids. Hogwash I say!! Do you really recommend these books?? I have access to all 5 .
Anony, the most recent book published in this series was number 7. And yes, yes, you should read them all. In order. And try to remember to take meal breaks.
Thanks to those of you who are NOT giving away any hints or spoilers of any kind.
