Because my computer screen is whacked…

…but I’ve been sitting in front of it all day anyway–wreaking havoc with my eyes.

I present to you a photo I took about a year ago at the North Carolina State Zoo in Asheboro, N.C.

This polar bear was rescued from a circus in Mexico, and at 800 pounds, was seriously malnourished. But he had not lost his sense of fun. He played ball and did back flips in the water for about 45 minutes. My kids were mesmerized.

    A. Mmmmmmm. Sandwiches!

Q: Why do polar bears have fur coats?

Sometimes I wish somebody would make up a word using my name, like they did for Mesmer.

    “He was maudlinized.”

    “That drunk, huh?”

I LOVE that photograph. You can tell they are mesmerized, and he’s just a playin’.

I love polar bears. I’m glad he’s finally able to have fun again.

I too LOVE polar bears. It’s those big feet and dog-like snouts. Wonderful picture- cute wee ones, too!

Great pic! Loved the dissertation on the word “orgy”. Had no idea it had religious beginnings though considering some of the intersting methods of worship practiced in various cultures it didn’t surprise me. It DID surprise me to hear you found it in Peter Pan! I guess we’ve all accepted the Disney version as an accurate rendition of the book!
